Admin HistoryAfter graduating from Brighton Polytechnic Art School with a first class honours degree in illustration Riddell went on to become editorial cartoonist at the Economist. He joined the Observer as business cartoonist in 1990 and drew the leader page cartoon. In 1991 he joined the Independent and Independent on Sunday. His style has been described as "Like Heath Robinson with a few drinks inside him". His political cartoons are drawn in the Punch symbolist tradition.
Custodial HistoryMajority of collection purchased from Chris Riddell in 2008, two further cartoons donated by the artist, six bought from The Cartoon Gallery, London; and one from the Political Cartoon Gallery.
