Description | Notebook, written mostly in shorthand, containing notes on Buganda and PAFMECA [Pan-African Freedom Movement of East and Central Africa] including: the Buganda Lukiiko [Buganda's Legislative Assembly] and debates on independence; Buganda's relationship with Britain; the Katikkiro of Buganda; the Buganda Agreement, 1955;calls for Bugandan independence from Britain, December 1960; the PAF [PAFMECA] conference and Independence of East Africa; Kenya's finances; the role of PAFMECA and [Ruanda-Urundi] independence.

Transcribed in 2021 as part of the Clyde Sanger shorthand transcription project with funding from The National Archives' Collaborate and Innovate Testbed Fund. The pdf transcription document also contains a digitised copy of the notebook. |
