Description | Notebook, written mostly in longhand with some shorthand, containing notes relating to: the Cape-Cairo road and imports and exports between CAF [Central African Federation], Kenya, EA [East Africa] and SA [Southern Africa]; secession and the [Central African] Federation; the economy in SR [Southern Rhodesia]; the Agric. Aids Foundation, Los Angeles and Kenya including politics, elections, German interests, KADU and oil refining. Also includes a poem 'Elsie and Gomo' [the author and date of the poem are unknown].
Names featured include: [Walter Turner] Monckton, Jeremy Thorpe, Professor CS Richards, W Field [possibly Winston Field], Dorothy Hughes, JJ Mugalla and Jomo Kenyatta.
Transcribed in 2021 as part of the Clyde Sanger shorthand transcription project with funding from The National Archives 'Collaborate and Innovate Testbed Fund. The pdf transcription document also contains a digitised copy of the notebook. |
