Description | Notebook, written mostly in shorthand, containing notes on Tanganyika including :Aga Khan visit and street name changes [possibly part of independence celebrations in December 1961]; doctors in public and private practice; trade union and government relations; citizenship; independence; foreign aid; agricultural development and foreign policy. Also contains notes relating to the banning of the National Democratic Party (NDP) in Southern Rhodesia and the Kenyan agricultural system, crop damage and KNFU [The Kenya National Farmers' Union].
Names featured include: Aga Khan, Julius Nyerere, [Christopher] Kasanga Tumbo, [Amir Habib] Jamal, [Sir Edgar Whitehead], [Lord Delamere] and Paul Ngei].
Transcribed in 2021 as part of the Clyde Sanger shorthand transcription project with funding from The National Archives' Collaborate and Innovate Testbed Fund. The pdf transcription document also contains a digitised copy of the notebook. |
