Description | Notebook, written mostly in shorthand, containing notes on the [third extraordinary meeting of of the OAU [Organisation of African Unity] held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, September 1964] to discuss the deteriorating political situation in the Republic of the Congo including notes on: the OAU mission and Charter; providing assistance to the Republic of the Congo; the use of foreign mercenaries and armies; decolonisation; political movements; instability and possible solutions and actions proposed by OAU member countries.
Names featured include: [Moïse] Tshombe, Diallo Telli, Kwame [Nkrumah], Jim Howard, Mobutu Sese Seko, [Joseph] Kasa-Vubu, Mongi Slim and [Kojo] Botsio.
