Description | Notebook, written mostly in shorthand, containing notes taken by Sanger in his role as the Guardian's United Nations (UN) correspondent including: the election of the UN General Assembly President; the International Court of Justice case on South West Africa (SWA); making the UN more effective and it's role in peacekeeping; Southern Rhodesian government; Guyana; Vietnam War; the University of Zambia and UN teacher training programme; foreign mercenries in the Democratic Republic of the Congo; notes from the 21st Session of the UN General Assembly including discussions on the removal of the SWA mandate from South Africa and establishment of UN administration of the territory, Vietnam War, nuclear arms, Syria, sanctions against Southern Rhodesia, Aden, racial discrimination and Haiti; Barbara Castle on road safety; and the UN Outer Space Treaty.
