Description | Notebook, written mostly in longhand with some shorthand, containing notes on Antigua, Barbados and Guyana including: cricket broadcasts in Antigua; the labour exchange programme between Barbados and UK and USA, October-December 1973; and wildlife, environment, economy, health care, crime, indigenous peoples and the 1969 Rupununi uprising in Guyana. The notebook also contains brief notes on the manatee population in Florida, USA and Dugongs in Sri Lanka.
Names featured include: Forbes Burnham, Lionel Luckhoo, Pat Cameron, Dr Harry and [Philip] Duncan.
Pitman shorthand content from this notebook was transcribed by Sylvia Stirling in 2021 as part of the Clyde Sanger shorthand transcription project with funding from The National Archives Collaborate and Innovate Testbed Fund. The PDF transcription document also contains a digitised copy of the notebook. |
