DescriptionCorrespondence and papers regarding the immediate need to source additional, temporary accommodation for the Guardian, which is 'bursting at the seams' at Cross Street, Manchester, and the long-term need to find new premises, c1949-1965. These include a memorandum on the accomodation situation (1949), with departmental comments attached, and correspondence regarding possible, temporary solutions to the space problem. These include sub-letting additional work space from local businesses, some of which already lease office space from the Guardian itself.

Also, correspondence and papers regarding the progress of the paper's proposed new premises at New Bailey Street, c1966-1967. These include detailed architectural plans, with various costings attached, and correspondence with Alastair Hetherington on site developments. Some undated.
