Folder titled 'Publishers Policy, General 1947-64' includes correspondence, predominantly with readers, on newspaper policy. Subjects include joint publishing venture proposals with Reynolds News, and Ernest Kay of John O' London's, Literary Periodicals Ltd, amongst others (all rejected), and correspondence with Lord Frederick Burnham on the printing of the Sunday Telegraph, for one day only, at the Guardian's Cross Street premises in Manchester, on 26 March 1961.

Folder titled 'Publishers Policy, Educational Weekly Project 1958', contains correspondence and papers on the proposed publishing of a weekly education paper. Documents include an assessment of current provision (predominately the Times Educational Supplement), and discussion between LP Scott and both Alastair Hetherington and Kenneth Searle, on the same; documents relating to the costing of the project, and projected revenue; a typed memorandum by Scott, commenting on the proposal, dated 21 April 1958; projected revenue figures drawn up by WJ Lascelles, and a letter giving circulation details of the main educational supplements currently published (including Teachers' World), provided by the London Press Exchange Ltd and sent to the same; second report on the project, by Scott, dated 30 April 1958, and appendix added by Searle, in May of that same year; report on survey conducted amongst the Chief Education Officers, on current provision, and their thoughts on the project (undated) and a revised assessment of the project, leading to it's ultimate rejection, dated May 1958.

Folder titled 'Publishers Policy - Survey of Industry 1951-58' contains correspondence and papers relating to the Survey of Industry, published annually, by the Guardian, for these years. Correspondents include Scott, AP Wadsworth, J Anderson, Richard Fry, W MacMillan, HG Milner, W Lascelles, H Roscoe and R Grey, all of the Guardian.
