Description | Contains numerous cuttings and broadcast summaries from a range of newspapers detailing the events of the Jonathan Aitken libel case against the Guardian and Granada TV. Includes clippings detailing the major events including the abandoning of some defense statements by the Guardian and Granada TV during the trial around allegations Aitken broke government policy by offering to sell arms to Iraq and being effectively in the pocket of the Saudi Royal family. Other events include the accusation of Aitken lying about who paid for his stay at the Paris Ritz hotel as well as articles detailing Aitken's evidence giving and cross examination as well as his complaints about the conduct of the papers in targeting him.
