Generally two leading articles were published on Monday and Saturday, and three from Tuesday to Friday. From Monday to Friday the leading articles generally appear in column format on the left hand side of the page, under the heading 'The Guardian' with the date, edition number, address '119 Farringdon Road, London EC1R 3ER', fax number '0171-837 4530', email address 'E-mail: letters@guardian.co.uk' and website (first example in volume, 25 March 1996) 'http://www.guardian.co.uk'. On Saturdays the leading article appears across the top third of the page, under the heading ''The Leader Page, The Guardian' with the date until 31 August 1996 when it follows the same format as published on weekdays.
