Description | Two versions of a colour advert with sound for the Guardian's new look Weekend magazine which re launched as a glossy lifestyle magazine on 21 April 2001. The advert features black and white CCTV footage of a newspaper being delivered to a newsagent. A man then enters the newsagent and purchases a copy of the Guardian.
Commentary: "This week we ask the question, do glossy weekend magazines really make newspapers more popular? Do pages filled with fashion features, relationship issues and interior design genuinely influence the choice of newspaper we buy? And ultimately, do these glossy magazines sell more newspapers? The Guardian finds out, this Saturday. The new glossy weekend magazine in the Guardian this Saturday. Part of the Guardian's new look Saturday paper".
The advert ends with a copy of the Guardian and the Weekend magazine followed by the following strapline presented in a label-like graphic: 'The Guardian. FreshLook. Sell by: Saturday. guardian.co.uk'.
