| System Of Arrangement | The arrangement is broadly chronological. Dates are included on most of the original cassette labels and the series has been arranged accordingly, although it is unclear whether the date refers to the production or broadcast of the advert, or a later compilation of multiple adverts.
Each record in this catalogue relates to one audio cassette tape, however most tapes include several different versions of an advert or closely related adverts as part of the same campaign. It is not usually clear which versions (if any) were broadcast. Adverts which appear on different tapes but are closely related (either by having the same focus, the same format or similar dates) have been judged to have formed part of the same campaign and are grouped together in a sub-series. Obvious duplicates have been discarded, those which are less obvious may remain.
Advert titles which appeared on the original cassette cases have generally been used in the title field in this catalogue, however the full information from the original cassette case is also provided in the description field. The titles of some sub-series (campaigns) have been assigned by the archivist during cataloguing if they could not be inferred from the original cassette case labels. |
