DescriptionIn a vehicle labelled 'Pearce Safaris', [Lord Pearce] is being pushed forward down the road by two men. The road, however, is blocked by a giant up whose feet the vehicle is now beginning to roll. Concerned, the driver asks if it were not "more convenient to go back". To the left, [Ian Smith] stands clutching onto his right shoulder and grimacing. In his right hand he holds a large axe.

[News from 27 January: Sir Alec Douglas-Home opened the debate in the House of Commons on the Rhodesia settlement proposals. He made it clear that as long as Lord Pearce's commission decided that political conditions in Rhodesia allowed them to carry on, he would not overrule that decision.] (Source: The University of Kent, British Cartoon Archive)
