DescriptionOn the left of the image a huge queue of people wait to climb up steps as if to board an airplane. The steps are labelled 'Monetarism Airlines'. At the top of the steps there is a big drop down to a small propellor plane labelled 'Growth Zero' with a man inside [Jim Callaghan]. A dishevelled looking man hold a fuel can and is looking away towards the right hand side of th image, where there is an aircraft hangar containing huge plane covered in cobwebs, labelled 'Public Spending Jumbo'. Tere are four men standing near it signalling, with another man slightly out of image smoking a pipe. In the foreground of the image is a woman [Margaret Thatcher] pointing at the four men and speaking. [The 'standby' mentioned in the title of the piece could be referencing standby credit].
