Description | Animated broomsticks labelled 'Wage claims' are marching down the stairs. They each have individual buckets with the labelled 'Teachers Wage Claims', 'Police Wage Claims', 'Sea-men', 'Nurses', 'Farms', and 'Gas', and are wearing hats that match the profession on their buckets. They are lining up to pour the contents of their buckets into a well labelled 'PIB.' which is overflowing. The well has flooded the room, and Harold Wilson and a woman [Barbara Castle] are drowning in it. To the left of the image a booklabelled 'How to perform economic miracles' is floating, and a man [Roy Jenkins] wearing a magicians' outfit looks on in shock. He is carrying a suitcase with a sticker on it saying 'New York'. |
