| Description | This cartoon shows two pictures of defence secretary Michael Heseltine. In the first picture labelled 'Not so long ago...' it has Heseltine in the middle of a [court room] crazily swinging around a royal septre, while people look at him frightened. The second picture says 'Not too long to go...' and has Heseltine in the middle of a field madly swinging around a missile and wearing a shirt that reads 'Nerves of steel', while people run away from him.
[Possibly refers to with his warning to Soviet leaders that if the Geneva arms negotiations were not successful, that he would launch cruise missiles]. (Sourced from The Guardian 13 October 1983). |
