| Description | Margaret Thatcher stands over a dead horse labelled '"National Security"' holding a book labelled 'The Aussie Idiom'. She angrily shouts 'I say, you over there! Tie that kangaroo down, sport' at an Australian man standing on the opposite cliff to her with a shirt labelled 'Appeal Court'. Jumping away from the horse is a small [kangaroo] labelled 'Armstrong' which is falling into the gap between the two cliff edges and a larger kangaroo labelled 'NSW' which is jumping towards the other cliff. The larger kangaroo has an unidentified man in its pouch with a large nose holding an unlabelled book.
Context: Thatcher attempted to prevent the publication of Spycatcher in Australia and petitioned the New South Wales Court of Appeal to overturn their Supreme Court's ruling allowing it. The Court of Appeal instead confirmed the Supreme Court's ruling (Source: UPI Archives Website) |
