Description | The cartoon is comprised of three frames. In the first frame, Ted Heath is standing on a stage with a paintbrush and a bucket of paint. Behind him is an image of a man wearing a union jack vest. A speech bubble above Heath says 'And now, at a stroke, standing on his two feet, my impression of freedom!' Four spectators below Heath are smiling. In the second frame the image of the man has had handcuffs attatched to a plank saying 'Wage cuffs' added. A speech bubble above Heath says ' Now, drawing the line here, and a small splash there'. The spectators smiles have disappeared. In the final frame, the image of the man has had a cog drawn beneath his feet, and a speech bubble above Heath says 'Freedom with Responsibility'. The spectators are frowning. |
