DescriptionCartoon shows three dock workers sitting smoking on a dock, with a sign behind them which reads "strike now" and is covered in cobwebs. In the water there is a man in a small boat stacked high with wooden boxes. The man throws a bird with the number "£5m" written on the side towards the dock workers who do not pay attention to him.

[Cartoon may relate to the national dock workers strike which began in 1972 in an attempt to safeguard jobs. The government wanted to lay off thousands of dock workers, particularly those who were unfit or over 55, in exchange for payment in order to maintain the industry's international competitiveness. The dock worker's branch of the TGWU refused and organised a strike in order to safeguard all jobs.]
