Description | This cartoon consists of two panels. The first panel shows Roy Jenkins as a witch holding a wand in the shape of a pound symbol. In front of him is a poor and unhappy looking family, a pumpkin and six rats with "Package tour operators" written beneath them. In the next panel the pumpkin and rats have gone and have been replaced by a tour bus with the words "'70s Holidays Unlimited" written across it, which the family are now sitting in and looking happier. The cartoon is a parody of the Cindarella fairy tale and represents how Roy Jenkins abolished the fifty pound restriction on travel allowance. |
