Description	Correspondence of Nora Beloff to her family covering January to December of 1956. Most of the letters are written from Paris and describe Beloff's work as Paris correspondent for The Observer. One of the letters from January describe meeting John Gielgud. The letters from February include a letter from Fred Tomlinson of The Observer, discussing the possibility of Beloff spending several months in the London office during the summer. A letter from March refers to Beloff being invited to the British Embassy for a reception held for the Queen Mother's visit to Paris. A letter from June is written from Algiers and Beloff discusses the current situation between France and Algeria. There is a break in the correspondence between June and November and this is likely to be due to Beloff spending this period at the London office as discussed in letter referred to above from Fred Tomlinson. The letters from November and December are written from Paris where Beloff resumed her position as The Observer's correspondent. At the end of the file are some letters which are undated.
