Description | Notebook written almost entirely in shorthand with only occasional longhand words, containing notes on Kenya and its Leg Co [Legislative Council] including: Meru; murder of Osborne [possibly the murder of Mrs Osborne on 5 May]; the General Service Unit; tribe relations; a plot to kill Ngala; the King's African Rifles; the Kipsigis, Nandi, Kamba and Kikuyu people; [Mboya] condemning the Portugese regime in Angola and Mozambique; debates on and plans for independence; considerations on Commonwealth membership; internal self governance and the release of Jomo Kenyatta.
